Colour fading can be a frustrating issue for many people, especially for those who invest time and money into achieving the perfect shade. Whether it's hair dye or fabric dye, keeping your colour vibrant and long-lasting can seem like an impossible task. However, there are a few simple steps that can help prevent colour fading and keep your chosen shade looking fresh.
Firstly, it's important to invest in high-quality dye products. Cheap, low-quality dyes can often fade quickly, leaving you with dull, lacklustre colour. Opt for dyes that are specifically designed to be long-lasting and vibrant, and always follow the instructions carefully to ensure the best results, on my clients I will only use Wella Koleston which is a professional brand, if you want to ensure long lasting colours of course I recommend coming to see me.
Secondly, it's important to use products that are specifically formulated for coloured hair, Regular shampoos can be harsh on colour and can cause it to fade more quickly. Look for shampoos and conditioners which are designed to protect and prolong colour, and try to avoid products with harsh chemicals or sulfates.
I recommend Wella Invigo colour brilliance shampoo conditioner and masque for their fantastic colour saving properties.

In addition to using the right products, it's also important to take care when washing and styling coloured hair, avoid using scalding water when washing, as this can cause the colour to bleed and fade more quickly. Instead, opt for lukewarm or cold water, and try to wash as infrequently as possible to prevent the colour from fading.
When it comes to styling, be mindful of the heat and friction that can cause colour to fade. Use heat protectant products when using hot tools on coloured hair, and try to avoid excessive brushing.
Finally, protecting your colour from the sun can also help prevent fading. UV rays can be damaging to colour, so consider using products with UV protection, wearing hats, or seeking shade when spending time outdoors.
By following these simple steps, you can help prevent colour fading and keep your chosen shade looking vibrant and fresh for as long as possible. With the right products and care, you can enjoy your perfect colour for longer, without the frustration of constant fading.
Hope it helps and thanks for reading guys,
